Jeanette Haren, Founder and Chief Product Officer

Jeanette Haren is Founder and Chief Product Officer of Truenorthlogic, focusing on the strategic product direction of the company. Jeanette has spent the last 15 years working directly with leading school districts across the country to define and develop professional growth systems to meet K-12 specific needs. Under Jeanette's leadership, Truenorthlogic created a one-of-a-kind comprehensive approach to supporting the cycle of continuous educator improvement and its connection to student achievement. Jeanette's innovative vision of a unified professional growth system, designed to be flexible as state and district initiatives evolve, resulted in a technology platform that supports millions of educators' professional growth.

Prior to co-founding Truenorthlogic, Jeanette served as Director of Product Architecture for Campus Pipeline, designing and implementing higher education portal systems focusing on institution system aggregation. As Software Development Manager at Utah Education Network, Jeanette formed a programming team to design and implement an Internet education system to enable curriculum integration of the web into all K-12 classrooms in Utah. Jeanette holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Utah.

Jeanette's professional recognitions include:  Co-authoring U.S. Patent #7093020 "Methods and systems for coordinating sessions on one or more systems" (2006), Utah Business Top Forty Under 40 (2007), Utah Women Tech Council Award for Outstanding Entrepreneur (2012), and Utah Business 30 Women to Watch (2013). 

 

Jim Rosenthal, Chief Executive Officer

"Everyone at Truenorthlogic shares a passion for improving K-12 education. We are committed to helping school districts address many of their day-to-day challenges and to improving educator effectiveness. We are excited about doing our part to positively impact student outcomes."

Jim Rosenthal plays an integral role in the executive leadership team by overseeing the company's performance and development. He focuses on growing the business by expanding sales and marketing efforts and ensuring Truenorthlogic's products effectively meet clients' needs. He has a great track record of building businesses and is the right person to lead Truenorthlogic to the next level.

Prior to joining Truenorthlogic, Jim founded UWS Capital, an M&A and strategic advisory group working with companies and investors in media, entertainment, and education. Before that, Jim was Chief Executive Officer at Kaplan Ventures, where he managed a global portfolio of diversified education businesses and led innovation initiatives and digital transformation. Prior to Kaplan, he spent 16 years at New Line Cinema as President of TV and Consumer Products. Jim earned a B.A. in Economics from Harvard University.

 

David Alderslade, Vice President of Finance

"One of the best things about coming to work every morning is that I'm able to share my passion with those around me. The drive we all have to continuously improve our products and services is what fuels us to champion both inside and outside the organization."

David Alderslade has more than twenty-eight years of experience in international financial services in Europe, Asia, and the United States. He was thrilled to bring that impressive background to Truenorthlogic, where he knew that he would be an integral part of a data-driven organization that strives to improve academic success for all learners.

Before joining Truenorthlogic, David held other senior positions including Managing Director and CFO at Richmond Park Partners, a London based independent merchant bank, Global Business Manager for Corporate Finance and Origination at Dresdner Kleinwort, Head of Finance at Commerzbank AG London, and Head of Financial Reporting and Head of Financial Markets Product Control at ING Barings.

He is qualified as an accountant with KPMG and is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants. David earned a B.S. in Business Management from the University of Waikato, New Zealand.

 

Douglas Davies, Vice President of Engineering

At Truenorthlogic, we focus on ensuring that our solutions enable and enhance the mission of our education institution partners.  The focus, collaboration, and passion of our teams make Truenorthlogic a great company.

Douglas Davies is an accomplished IT executive with a demonstrated ability to lead diverse engineering teams to consistently deliver quality IT solutions that surpass expectations. He is focused on leading the architecture, software engineering, quality assurance, IT solutions, and DevOps teams.

Doug’s 20-year track record in software leadership includes directing the integration of new businesses, increasing efficiency and lowering cost, leading design and development of new products, architecture, and Agile development training. Previous positions include Director of Software Engineering at 1-800 Contacts, Inc., Software Development Process Manager at the Corporation of the Presiding Bishop, Development Director at Symantec Corporation, and Director of Software Engineering at Artel Video Systems.  Doug earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and an A.S. in Mathematics at Utah State University. He also completed several years of post-graduate studies in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at the University of Utah.

 

Laura Thorn, Vice President of Client Success

“I’m extremely passionate and dedicated to managing and executing strategic visions for customers.”

Laura Thorn’s strong leadership, communication, team management, and coaching skills are a valuable asset to the Truenorthlogic team. Laura leads our team of project managers, client managers, technical business analysts, and technical support; the team responsible for ensuring each client’s success. She is accountable for the management of client statewide and districtwide implementations, and delivering customer satisfaction.

She has extensive project work experience in project and product management, wide-scale deployments, and process design across hundreds of customers. Prior to Truenorthlogic, Laura worked as a Platform Manager at OnBrand360™ and a Project Manager at CompCon Tech and InterDyn-Artis. Laura earned a B.S. in Computer Science at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

 

Alia Jackson, Vice President of Marketing

I love hearing a Principal tell me how Truenorthlogic tools have freed up time for them so they could work with a teacher on their professional growth.”

Alia Jackson has over 15 years of professional development, product and marketing management experience. Alia brings an extensive knowledge of the education market and has demonstrated an ability to successfully launch products into the education market. As Vice President of Marketing and Client Adoption, Alia spearheads all marketing initiatives and internal and external professional development training.

Before joining Truenorthlogic, Alia worked in an array of product marketing, professional development and educational support roles at Learning.com. As a K-12 industry consultant, she provided strategic direction, educator outreach, and sales tool creation for a variety of education clients. Alia earned a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Oregon, and Master of Public Administration focused on Education Policy from the University of Washington.

 

Dan Tanner, Vice President of Sales

“I believe that all educators should be empowered with tools to positively impact their students’ performance. This is why I’m dedicated to representing Truenorthlogic’s K-12 solutions.”

Dan Tanner brings a wealth of professional sales experience to the Truenorthlogic team. Dan is successful in consultative and solution selling to the K-12 market. As a senior sales leader, he mentors account executives and develops collaborative approaches focused on closing business opportunities.

Dan has spent his entire professional career in the education market. Before joining Truenorthlogic, he held various sales roles including Senior Strategic Account Executive in the U.S. domestic markets and Senior Director of Solution Sales in the international markets at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing, Account Representative at Pearson Education, and is a former educator at two nationally recognized public school districts.  Dan earned a B.S. in Elementary Education from Oklahoma State University and M.S. in Public School Administration from the University of Central Oklahoma.
